Part-time Maintenance Worker

The Clark County Park District encompasses land teeming with natural beauty and echoes of historical events. The Park District manages over 800 acres of parkland at six nature preserves  and 16 miles of bike trails throughout Clark County, Ohio. The focus includes natural habitat and greenway protection, historic house and Battlesite, nature and bike trails, natural rock cliffs, river access, outdoor education/historical interpretation programs, and hosting historical re-enactment events such as The Fair at New Boston.

 

Position:

The 24 hour/week maintenance position involves general park maintenance, mowing & trimming, nature and bike trail maintenance, special event support, and assisting the public.

Basic skill requirements:

Familiarity with mower and basic tool operation, basic computer knowledge, and skilled with Microsoft Word. Candidate must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs, and work in all weather conditions.

Equipment:

Zero turn mower, chain saw, gas weed eater, hand tools, leaf blower.

Supervision:

Intern will report directly to the Chief Ranger/Operations Manager.

Other Requirements:

Candidate must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license and be insurable to operate Park District vehicles.
Must be willing to work occasional weekends or evenings.
Successful completion of post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background and driving record check.
